Privacy Policy

This notice explains how CaseHunt handles information when you browse, connect a wallet, hunt for cases or claim an item.

Information we use

Your wallet address identifies your account. We process wallet sign-in messages and signatures to verify ownership, together with your optional username, selected agent avatar, Steam trade link, game progress, case openings, prizes and withdrawal records. We do not ask for your wallet seed phrase or private key.

For the online-player count, we store the latest activity time for signed-in accounts. Inactive activity records are removed within about one day. Only aggregate player counts are public. Giveaway winners appear with their username or public wallet address and prize; private trade links are never included.

When you allow location access, we process GPS coordinates, accuracy and timing information to locate nearby cases, provide directions and check whether you can claim a case. Location and movement-check information can be stored with your game state. We also retain cumulative accepted walking distance, daily walking XP progress, earned badges and XP for your hunter level. Completed openings determine daily play bonuses and streaks. Walking progress uses a recent movement baseline rather than saving a full walking route.

Our hosting and security services process connection information, including IP addresses and request metadata. Connection information supports request rate limits and protection against unauthorized access. Accounts are not restricted by shared IP addresses or networks. Keyed network-account records from the former restriction remain in private historical storage but are no longer used to admit or block accounts; raw IP addresses were not stored in that table.

Why we use it

We use this information to operate the game, maintain your progress, verify sign-ins and eligibility, reserve prizes, deliver items, process wallet payouts, investigate errors and protect accounts and funds. A Steam trade link is needed for skin delivery; it is not needed just to browse the map.

Location access is optional for browsing, but nearby case claims and location-based game modes require it. You can revoke permission in your browser or device settings. Disconnecting a wallet signs you out; it does not erase your account or transaction history.

What other people can see

Drop feeds and leaderboards may show your selected agent avatar, username (or a shortened wallet address if none is set), prizes, item count and total prize value. Live stats also show aggregate accepted walking distance and openings by rarity. We use the country supplied by our hosting provider to display miles or kilometers. These public views do not include Steam trade links or precise player coordinates.

Solana transactions and addresses are public blockchain records. Transfers can be viewed independently of CaseHunt and cannot be erased by deleting an account.

Service providers

Cloudflare provides hosting, network protection and backend services. Supabase hosts the game database. Map and routing providers, including OpenFreeMap and Mapbox, receive requests needed to display map areas or calculate routes. A route request can include start and destination coordinates.

CaseHunt connects directly to compatible Solana wallets and verifies wallet signatures using its own account service. Your wallet app processes connection requests and sign-in messages under its own privacy policy. CaseHunt stores your game account in its own database and does not hold your wallet's private keys. Solana RPC and swap providers process blockchain requests. Waxpeer and Steam process the trade information needed to purchase or deliver a skin. These independent services also have their own privacy policies. Processing may occur in countries other than your own.

Cookies and browser storage

CaseHunt uses essential session cookies and browser storage for sign-in, wallet handoffs, preferences and onboarding. A browser-session flag remembers location approval; it is not proof that you are still at a particular location. Wallet handoff data may be stored temporarily so the connection can resume after you return from a wallet app.

Clearing browser storage can reset local preferences or interrupt sign-in. The game does not need advertising cookies to function.

Retention and your choices

Account, prize and transaction records remain in the database while needed to maintain progress, fulfill outstanding claims, reconcile payments and investigate abuse. Disconnecting does not automatically delete them. Account deletion and data export are not available as self-service tools. Contact us with requests about your information.

You can update your username and trade link in your profile, disconnect your wallet, or revoke location permission. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete information, restrict or object to its use, or complain to a privacy authority. Some records may need to be retained for outstanding claims or legal obligations; public blockchain records cannot be removed by us.
